New York Times: Advice on Finishing With No Regrets
South Africa, Argentina, Antarctica > clothes, bags, shoes

A lot of folks have been asking me lately how I am able to travel so much (and rightfully so). Well, this quote is the answer.
Trips are what I frame my year around. Other than being generally awesome times, locking them in to my future often helps me to make life decisions that will ensure that they happen.
There’s nothing I’d rather spend money on than flights, especially ones that involve crossing water. So I don’t spend money on other things that people might usually, like clothes, fancy dinners, big nights out, etc. As long as I don’t go into debt, I’m quite happy to spend all of my money on seeing as much of the world as I can. I’m lucky that it’s just me, nothing really to tie me down or another person to take into consideration. So really all it takes is a little planning and the guts to actually book that flight, reserve that hotel, find that travel partner.
It also helps living in a country that gives you 4 weeks off to start and an additional 2 for some overtime you put in.
